New prayer letter

Tales from Tramore Number 5, November 2013

 UPDATE
Hi all, just a note to say hi and to update you on my news. I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write this prayer letter, it has been on my list of things to do for ages but it kept getting put on the long finger, but now it is half term, and I have no more excuses!   When I last updated you it was just the beginning of the summer! It is hard to believe the summer is already over and we are back into the new term and Christmas is just around the corner. I was in Tramore for the summer but in September I was away for a bit as I had a few speaking engagements and my brother David got married, so I only just feel like I am getting back into the swing of things now. Please find all my news enclosed. Thanks so much for your continued support and prayers love Charis xx

The Summer
The summer was very busy but it was nice to have a change in my weekly routine. I ran a 5 day club (with a pirate theme) at the end of July which went really well, we had about 20 kids each day (a lot of kids were new). The club was in the same hall and estate where we have club during the year and I ran it along with some helpers from church and 6 helpers from the beach missions team that was here that week.  Beach missions were here for 3 weeks and it was nice to spend some time with them too. Over the summer I was also able to have a few get togethers at my house for people from the church.  I also had lots of visitors over the summer, which was great, and they saw Tramore in the sun too which is rare!

King’s Kids (kid’s club)
We didn’t start back club till the beginning of October and with 2 days to go I wasn’t even sure if we would have enough helpers to start. Thankfully a college girl (Alanna) from church stepped up to help so that now there are 3 of us each week but this is still not enough leaders as we have over 20 kids coming and some of them are hard to manage. Every second week one of my leaders (Mary) can’t come as she is working so Inge (my ECM colleague) is helping out every second week till Christmas but this is not a long term solution.  I have been considering changing the time of the club so that potentially more people would be available to help or restricting the number of kids that can come, or ....  Please pray I will know what to do next term as we won’t have enough leaders.

                 Bible Explorer:
For the next 5 weeks I am going to be going to Dublin every Thursday to do some training in a program called Bible explorer. I will go into a primary school in Dublin to see the program in action and then I will do some training in how to use and teach the program.
