week 2 of club

some things I used this week at club
The second week of club was not as easy as the first, the kids were all a bit hyper, we had more kids (15), we had less helpers and the helpers we had we not all the normal ones as some of the regulars could not come, but we got through it!! We are doing a series on david and the story yesterday was david and goliath. On a positive note most of the kids knew the memory verse
1 Samuel chapter 16 verse 7
 “Man looks at the outward
appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

from last week and I tried some singing with the kids too and it was a hit !  Here is a verse we had on the craft we made:

Red, Blue, Yellow, Orange, and Green,
These five little stones remind me of many things.

Red means STOP! Pray for Gods power. He's Lord of my life and my strong tower.

Blue tells me some days I will feel sad.But with Gods help, I will soon be glad.
Yellow reminds me to slow down and pray. Thank you God, for blessings you give me each day.

Orange
this stone is very bright. God is with me, there's no need to feel fright.

Green tells me to get up and go tell others how God loves them so.

First club this week

Well I have really started properly now since I took my first club on wed 16th, it went well which was a nice start! There were about 12 kids there (not as many as usual, but it takes a week for all to realise we are back). We are studying the life of David this term and we started off yesterday with David being anointed to be king, and I told the story as Samuel! Please pray for me as i get settled into this club, get to know the kids and team and as i prepare for the rest of the term too.

Commisioning

I was commissioned from my church in Dublin last Sunday 13th January, it was great to see friends and to be   sent out from my church, many stayed for a lunch after church too (organised by Arthur and Pauline Travers)  thanks to Pauline and Arthur and to those who helped serve and wash up from the lunch too thanks also to those who traveled to be there such as Avril and Dave, mum, Jenni and Robert, Charlie and Miriam, Jonathan and Nicola and kids.
Thanks also to those who gave me gifts too, and thanks to Adrian and Melanie who let mum and I stay with them. It was a great day and thanks to all who helped make it great!
