Speaking engagements

Just to let you know I have a few speaking engagements coming up soon.
Swords Baptist church on the 1st September and
a missionary discovery day (for kids) in Portadown Baptist on the 7th September .
Please pray for me as I Prepare and speak on these dates.

Trip to England

My friend Claire and I had booked  to go see our friend Sharon in England at the end August (we booked it when we got back from her in March), sadly Sharon did not make it till August (she was battling cancer) and she died in June this year. Claire and I decided to go over anyway to visit her in-laws and to try and enjoy it as best as we could as we know Sharon would have wanted us to go anyway!
It was hard to go visit her Mother-in-law (Marilyn) and Sister-in-law (Andrea) but we had a good time with them reminiscing and telling them funny stories about Sharon (she would kill us) but also letting them know we care about them and that they are stuck with us even though Sharon is gone.
Please pray for them as they grieve and for Dave Sharon's husband (who we did not see this visit).
It was so strange to be over to visit and not to see Sharon but thank God we know she is in Heaven now, but we still miss her.

Birthday

It was my Birthday last week, the first one in Tramore!
My brother David was down this direction with work and stayed overnight the night before my birthday and we had birthday cake no 1, the next day (my actual Bday) i went to visit my friend Claire in Portlaoise and we went to the cinema and had birthday teacakes!!
The next day I went to Dublin via saggart (here i met up with a girl i used to go to Uni with) and then in Dublin I met up with áine and we went to a James bond movie in a small cinema in a hotel!
It was a great birthday and it was lovely to catch up with friends and family and to watch lots of movies and eat lots of Indian food my only complaint was that it was just over too quickly!

Support

This past weekend I had some more visitors, Anne, Avril and Arthur came to visit from Cork, Clare and Dublin. It was lovely to see them all, to show them around and introduce them to friends in church. These friends are part of a support group that support me in my work here in Tramore.  I have many wonderful supporters (praying for me, encouraging me and supporting me financially) but there is a group of 7 (Anne, Arthur, Avril, Claire, Jenni, Edwina and Steve)  that specifically arrange to meet up with me every few months via skype (and sometimes in person) to ask how I am doing, to suggest things, to encourage me, to pray for me etc.
It is very hard to arrange to all get together in person but this past weekend the A team (as they were nicknamed) came to town (Avril, Anne and Arthur) Jenni and her husband Robert were here the weekend before, Steve was here in July with beach missions and Claire will be here next weekend so I will have managed to see everyone except Edwina and hopefully she will be down soon:)

Day 5 ....We can go to heaven one day to be with Jesus the treasure

Sorry for the delay in letting you know how the last day of club went but my mum arrived in to tramore on friday afternoon and then i was cleaning and tidying the hall before going up to visit my brother and his family in the north of Ireland on sat for the bank holiday weekend.
We had 20 kids on friday and 10 adults came to join us for the pirate party (the last 30 mins of camp) to hear the memory verse, a song, and to have some refreshments.
Thanks for your prayers over the week,  your prayers REALLY helped.
Please continue to pray for the seeds that were sown and that many of these kids will come to club when we start back again in oct.
Thanks again love charis
ps the beach missions are in tramore for their last week this week please pray it will be a good last week for them

Day 4 ...Jesus came to die for us

Well it was dry this morning but the grass was very wet so we opted to stay inside and play games .
We had 16 kids again this morning and as well as games we designed pirate flags. We had a new Jack sparrow today (Brendan a guy from church), it was great to have him and others from church involved as well as the beach missions.
Praise God for safety so far
Pray for tomorrow our last morning that it will go well and that some parents will come at 12:30 for our pirate party
Pray for me as i tie up all the teaching tomorrow
thanks charis
